Altum Peptide™ Gold Needle Facial: What to Expect at Your First Session
The Altum Peptide™ treatment, also known as the “gold needle” facial, is one of the most requested treatments at our Palm Mar studio. If it is your first time, here is what happens during the session and afterwards, step by step.

How the technology works
IDENEL's Altum Peptide™ technology combines marine-sponge micro-spicules with active peptides. The spicules reach the upper layers of the skin and release the peptides gradually for up to 72 hours, stimulating renewal and the production of collagen and elastin.
No needle device is used: the cream is applied and worked into the skin with a massage.
What the session looks like
We start with an enzyme cleanse, mist and toner to prepare the skin. Then we apply the Altum Peptide™ cream and finish with a repairing cream and a soothing mask.
Before we begin we talk about your skin, any sensitivities and treatments you are currently following, so we can adapt the protocol to you.
How your skin feels afterwards
A light tingling or warmth in the first hours is normal — it shows the spicules are working. The skin may look slightly flushed that day, and very fine flaking may appear over the following days.
During those days avoid strong sun, saunas and exfoliants, and apply high sun protection every morning.
How often to repeat it
For a visible effect one or two sessions a week are recommended; first results are usually noticeable after 3–5 sessions. We will suggest a plan based on your skin and how long you are staying in Tenerife.
